Since none of the drivers I have tried have given me anything better than 3 MB download speed, and there seems no solution with this old wireless adapter, I think the best bet is to update to a newer adapter that will work with Windows 10. Thanks Louis, that's a great way to take Windows out of the equation and basically you are doing a "clean install" of the drivers.
Uninstalling the driver removes the risk of it being damaged/troublesome.installing drivers anew takes a matter of minutes from dowloading to installation.and I have now removed one suspect from the list of possible contributors to my system problems, if such continue.Įdited by hamluis, 12 June 2020 - 10:29 AM. I don't use the Windows update mechanism for drivers.I uninstall the current drivers, reboot, and reinstall fresh drivers. The only reason that I even check drivers.is when I have a problem and I suspect that it's a drivers problem in origin. I don't "update" drivers.if a problem manifests itself, I uninstall suspect drivers and replace them with newly installed drivers.even if they are the same version as those which I uninstalled. FWIW: I never pay attention to Windows.when it tells me that the best driver is already installed.
